The 27-year-old was initially charged in connection with a fire in an apartment building.

Police say they believe the same person was responsible for all three incidents.

The man was charged with murder and weapons possession.

Police say the 22-year-old man, who was on parole for felony charges, was involved in a shootout when officers intervened near Ocean and Church avenues.

The man was being sought in connection with three homicides this summer and had an active bench warrant, according to officials.

"It was important for us to open a vegan restaurant here in Flatbush. The neighborhood has been a food desert for most of our lives, and seeing so many of our friends and family members passing away due to ailments that seem to plague our communities... we decided it was necessary to introduce a better way of eating."
