Tessa Majors was killed in Morningside Park during a botched mugging.

Some are trying to find new housing as the state converts their dorms to makeshift hospitals.

The teen, who is being charged as an adult, allegedly confessed "he was in the park and tried to take the girl’s phone and 'she was hanging onto her phone' and that he hit her with a knife."

It's believed that this teen is the one who fatally stabbed the college student.

'This is an opportunity to build rather than to break the bridge with our neighbors.'

Columbia says the university is not required to notify students about crimes in Morningside Park, because it's across the street from where the campus ends.

Police say the young woman was slain during a mugging.

Barnard College has placed half a dozen campus safety officers on administrative leave, after video surfaced this weekend showing them pinning a black student to a countertop and demanding he present ID.

The President joked that women have men outnumbered.
