An NJ Transit bus slammed into a building in Midtown late Thursday afternoon, according to police.

The bus had just finished dropping off passengers at 101 Park Ave., police said. The building houses multiple businesses, including an art museum, indoor golf studio and club.

After dropping off the passengers, the driver lost control of the bus, jumped the curb and hit the side of the building, according to the Department of Buildings.

It then continued into a sidewalk shed in front of 370 Lexington Ave., damaging around 35 feet of it, according to the DOB. The department added that the damaged shed was already being repaired.

Police said there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash. The driver was taken to a local hospital for their injuries, the DOB said.

DOB inspectors observed non-structural damage to 101 Park Ave's facade, and a gate at the building's loading dock was knocked out of its tracks. No damage was observed on 370 Lexington Ave.

This story has been updated with new information. An earlier version reported the bus was a Port Authority bus, based on preliminary information from both the NYPD and the Department of Buildings.
