Come September 29th—October 2nd, the Food Network's annual NYC Wine & Food Festival will again flood the Meatpacking District with TV food personalities, food TV obsessives, food bloggers, and people looking for foodstuffs of any kind (preferably in a free for all). We wouldn't even bother mention it to you until September except, well, tickets went on sale this morning and stuff is selling out absurdly quickly. Hoping to go to the Whoopi Goldberg-hosted Burger Bash this year? Ha.Try again next year.
Still, if paying to listen to people talk about food while grabbing an occasional nibble here and there is what floats your gravy boat, there are a few interesting sounding events where tickets are still available, including the Grand Tasting, desserts with Momofuku's Christina Tosi, Carts in the Parc with Andrew Zimmerman, and a Sunday Jazz Brunch with Paula Deen. And that's just the tip of the iceberg lettuce. The full list of events are available here.
But let's say you are planning on going to any of these events? If the past is any indication&mdash,be prepared to line up early and move briskly if you want to get good samples before the onslaught of Guy Fieri fans suck the air out of the room. Those people are vicious.
