Beloved subterranean beer haunt Jimmy's No 43 was one of many businesses affected by the East Village explosion. Luckily, the building housing the bar was spared the brunt of the damage, but they were still forced to vacate while debris from the adjacent blast site was sorted through. Tonight, owner Jimmy Carbone sends word that the Health Department has given him the okay to reopen. And millions of beer nerds rejoiced.

"Mostly, we want to thank all the first responders and the many people who have shown support for us these past two weeks: FDNY, the Office of Emergency Management, NYC Small Business Services and all the patrons who we invite to come in and celebrate our re-opening," Carbone said.

The bar reopens with a limited menu this weekend that includes beef sliders, shishito peppers, cheese plates and french fries. Unfortunately, their WiFi and phone lines are still out of order, so they aren't able to accept credit cards at this time. They encourage everyone who wants to swing by for a brew and a bite to bring cash, as their ATM machine is also offline.

Jimmy's, along with Burp Castle and Standings, have been dubbed the Brewmuda Triangle "because you can get lost here drinking great beer for hours and days on end." All three are slated to reopen their doors this weekend, but check their Twitter or call to confirm in case something changes.

Also in the neighborhood, Saturday's Small Biz Crawl will help draw customers to other local businesses affected by the blast.

If you’re interested in donating money to help those affected by the East Village explosion, the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City is accepting donations. Checks should be made out to the NYC Mayor's Fund with a note that they are earmarked for the East Village Collapse. In kind donations are not being accepted at this time.
