If the news from this week is any indication, we can expect to see a whole lot more food trucks on our streets this summer. It isn't even spring yet and already we've seen the advent of a food truck association and a free Air France food truck running from this Thursday through Monday. And now—perfectly timed for our New Orleans staycation—the History Channel is planning to launch its own free Cajun food truck next Monday through Thursday.
Zagat Buzz is reporting that the network's truck will be offering the gratis grub around town to promote the second season of Swamp People. Expect items from chef John Folse to include items like "mallard duck and smoked wild boar sausage gumbo, venison jambalaya, and fricassee of swamp rabbit and wild mushrooms." The truck will be making two stops each day, starting with Sixth Avenue and 41st at noon on Monday. After that you can track its whereabouts on Twitter.
