Now that spring is (technically) here, we can eat for fun instead of for sheer survival. Here are a few good places to do that this week:

On Monday, Time Out New York is hosting their annual Food & Drink Awards and tasting celebration at Marquee in Chelsea. A $75 ticket gets you into the party, which will feature dishes by award nominees like Toro, Pearl & Ash and Betony. There's also an open bar with cocktails by nominated mixologists from bars like The Dead Rabbit and Battery Harris, plus wine and beer by sponsor Stella Artois. The event runs from 7 to 10pm and tickets are available online; an after-party will be held at Sleep No More supper club The Heath.

Tuesday's got two noteworthy events. First, the 92nd Street Y is hosting a talk on food and cooking in Jewish culture, led by chefs Joan Nathan, Pati Jinich, Ari White and Louisa Shafia. The chefs will participate in a panel discussion on Jewish food and cooking, followed by a kosher tasting dinner featuring dishes like barbecued sliders, quinoa salad and gefilte fish a la Veracruzana. The event starts at 8:15 p.m. and costs $40 to attend; you can purchase a ticket online.

And also on Tuesday, the BRIC House in Downtown Brooklyn is holding a "Stoop Series" event on Brooklyn's indie food and drink scene. The free event will feature a panel discussion with borough food heavyweights like Eric Demby of the Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg, Gabrielle Langholtz of Edible Brooklyn and Edible Manhattan and Tom Monday of Small Batch America. You can also expect plenty of live music, plus plenty of "indie" food and drink; the event kicks off at 7 p.m.
