Police are looking for the driver now.

Jesus Cepeda was crossing East 44th Street near Second Avenue when a 57-year-old man began reversing his 2011 Ford Escape.

Apparently the guy didn't want the SUV driver taking down his license plate number.

The SUV was found a few miles away.

The ocean is a fickle tableau.

"I thought was a garbage bag being tossed from the vehicle," one witness said.

They were on their way to church, according to reports.

It's believed the dogs lived their entire lives in the car.

"We just all started lifting the truck up, as soon as we lifted it up, a couple gentlemen pulled her from under."

The victim is in critical condition.
