A possible deal "would involve a misdemeanor plea in which [Strauss-Kahn] would serve no jail time," but only if prosecutors have completely abandoned any thought of seeking a felony conviction.

Her lawsuit asserts, "All these statements are false, have subjected the plaintiff to humiliation, scorn and ridicule throughout the world by falsely portraying her as a prostitute."

Charges may be dropped at Strauss-Kahn's next court hearing in two weeks, or even sooner, as Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance, Jr. is scheduled to meet with the defense team tomorrow morning.
