The Upper West Side venue is scheduled to fully reopen for the first time in more than two years on July 21st, with upgraded interiors and a new bar/lounge added next door.

For the second time in a week, thick smoke has arrived in New York City from the West Coast wildfires, threatening air quality in the region and filtering the sunlight through an ominous red fog.

The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm watch through 8:00 p.m., with the possibility of 70 mile-per-hour wind gusts, large hail, and ample lightning.

It's the second time in less than a year that West Coast fires have had a visibly graying effect on our skyline.

The smoke will travel between 15,000 and 20,000 feet overhead, meaning that ground-level air quality will not be impacted.

The FDNY responded to 28th Street; delays and service changes impacted the N/Q/R/W trains.

"A block away the entire street was full of smoke and we knew we had substantial fire."

An MTA spokesperson said, "[We're] trying to bring it back as soon as we can."
