Adeel A. Mangi was tapped to serve on the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, which has jurisdiction over federal appeals from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and the Virgin Islands.

Several inches of rain fell in a compressed time frame on July 9, causing major flooding in Orange County and beyond.

Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams have made repeated appeals to President Joe Biden's administration for help.

This marks the first time Biden will meet with Adams as mayor.

“You're trying to recover from a pandemic so you take a loss there and now you have this, I don't know how sustainable it is, it really just depends on what aid is out there to basically start from scratch.”

"Climate change poses an existential threat to our lives, our economy," Biden said. "The threat is here. It's not going to get any better. The question is, can it get worse? We can stop it from getting worse."

There’s hope that with so many locals at the federal level the city might get more federal support.

"Many neighborhoods are as racially segregated today as they were in the middle of the 20th century," the president said.
