The chief executive of the New York Road Runners, the nonprofit behind the NYC Marathon, will step down following allegations that he fostered a toxic and racist work culture at the running club.

The non-profit held a pilot event over the weekend.

They're suing over the $11 processing fee.

The marathon also has a refund policy and beefed up insurance in the wake of the Hurricane Sandy cancellation.

The partnership aims to connect "runners and guests with local hosts, as well as strengthening the local running experience and uniting runners from around the world."

Updated procedures include the inspection of all bags brought near the marathon and screenings of spectators and family members at the finish line.

It it looks like the NYRR's at it again, making it unclear whether 2012's registered runners are guaranteed a slot in next year's race as promised.
