Letitia James ordered 28 firearms sellers to stop advertising and selling the untraceable gun parts.

The untraceable firearm has become more prevalent in the city.

The NYPD also said it's recovered a handful of 3-D printed guns this year.

'That's why the whole thing is so insidious,' Council Member Helen Rosenthal says of DIY guns. 'No serial number on anything, completely untraceable.'
