Only two weeks since the FDNY and NYPD seized generators and biofuels from Occupy Wall Street protesters—citing a fire hazard—the generators have returned to Zuccotti Park.

Though the confiscated generators were returned to protesters last night, winter's approach ensures that those living in Zuccotti Park will need all the power they can muster.

Yesterday firefighters seized a generator belonging to a licensed food vendor who operates a cart on the sidewalk outside Zuccotti Park. The vendor was reportedly running a power cord to the protesters' media tent.

Cycling advocacy group Times Up! energy-mapped the whole park and determined it would take 11 pedal-powering generators to fuel the movement, at the total cost of around $8,000.

With their generators and fuel confiscated by the FDNY, some Occupy Wall Street protesters are talking about leasing an indoor space to make it through the winter. Others are talking about bicycle generators.

Earlier this morning the FDNY, accompanied by the NYPD, conducted a surprise safety inspection of the Occupy Wall Street encampment at Zuccotti Park.

Five days after ending, Fashion Week is still pissing people off.
