A 23-year-old woman lost sight in one of her eyes last weekend after a man hit her in the face with a bottle at a SoHo nightclub, according to prosecutors. The nightclub, Greenhouse, is located just above the bar that hosted a bloody bottle fight between rappers Drake and Chris Brown in 2012.
According to a criminal complaint, at around 4 a.m. on February 22nd, 22-year-old Andres Grajales hit two women in the head with bottles while partying at Greenhouse. One of those women suffered a fractured eye socket and lost eyesight in her right eye. Sources tell DNAinfo it is unclear whether the loss of sight is permanent. The second woman, who is 27, was struck in the head; she was taken to a nearby hospital, where she received five stitches.
Grajales has been charged with assault in the second degree, though it is unclear why he threw the bottles at the women to begin with. Greenhouse was temporarily shuttered in 2012 when rappers Drake and Chris Brown became involved in a brutal bottle fight it its downstairs club, Work In Progress (W.I.P.). The fight sparked a number of lawsuits against the Varick Street venue, with numerous individuals, including NBA star Tony Parker, alleging they had sustained serious injuries.
