Construction to revamp the JFK's international terminal, Terminal 4, has been underway since 2010, with the goal to gussy up the outdated structure and add several new gates, among other things. Today, the Times takes a peek at how things are going over there, despite the fact that the project won't be finished until at least 2013. And what they found, is, surprisingly, kind of good?

While there's still plenty of time for the project to go horribly awry, so far, things are relatively on track, with the foundation laid for a new mechanized baggage screening system, updated security facilities, fancy new shops and sky clubs, and the nine new gates, too. “What’s exciting is you’re not just looking at dirt in the ground,” said Gail Grimmett, the senior vice president at Delta Air Lines. “You can see the frame there. You can see a framework of an expansion. You can see progress. Now there’s a structure in place.”

Here's a fantastically cheesy animated video of what to expect for future of Terminal 4. Now, if only we can get that makeover at LaGuardia off the ground STAT.
