Police hope the public can help them locate a suspect who allegedly threatened a pregnant woman with grave injury during an ATM robbery in Manhattan.

According to the NYPD, the robbery took place at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 30th: A 35-year-old woman, who is pregnant, entered the Bank of America branch at 390 Avenue of the Americas when the suspect threatened to "cut her and her baby if she did not withdraw money for him. The victim complied, withdrew $400 in cash and gave it him before he fled in an unknown direction." The victim was not injured.

Police say the suspect is Melvin Johnson, 49, approximately 6'2" tall, 300 lbs. with brown eyes, and investigators have released a photograph of him. WCBS 2 reports, "There was no shortage of surveillance shots of the suspect who locals believe they often see hanging out in the area." A newsstand operator said, "I see many times the guy sometimes standing over there sometimes on this other corner." The victim told WCBS 2 that she's doing fine.
