Though it feels like more, it has been two weeks since Anthony Weiner resigned from Congress over his sextra-curricular habits and the Post just won't leave the man alone. And we just can't look away. Since leaving office Weiner has bought cheap flowers for his wife, took her out to dinner where he allegedly left a bad tip and tried to ingratiate himself into the decision of who his successor will be. And now the paper reports that not only is Weiner finally going to go to that rehab (for sexting?) he'd talked about before, his pregnant wife, Huma Abedin, is taking a break from work.
Sources close to the randy former Represenative say that Weiner is heading off to a rehab facility for something—but just like the last time he said he was doing so, nobody really knows for what. "It's going to be something a bit intense," a House Democrat "who remains in contact with him" told the tabloid.
Meanwhile the paper says that Weiner's 35-year-old wife, a close aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is taking a break from work to "relax at an undisclosed location." "She is definitely taking time off away from her husband and chilling," a source said. "And he's going some place for at least a couple of weeks."
Adebin, who is in the early stages of carrying the couple's first child, is reportedly committed to making the marriage work. Still, can you blame her for wanting a break? Not that the Post makes it sound like she'll be getting much of one. According to the paper's source her family "is going to be watching her like a hawk, like she's under a microscope."
