Awful: The police say that a 69-year-old man was assaulted while in an elevator by a man who stole the chain around his neck. They have released a video showing the brutal beating in hopes of finding the attacker.

The incident occurred in the 41st Precinct, which covers the South Bronx, on Wednesday, September 26 around 7 p.m. As the video shows, the victim is waiting to get out at his floor when the attacker starts to punch and kick him.

Police say the suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his 20s around 5'4" with a thin build and short black hair, stole the chain before leaving. Anyone with information in regards is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). In 2007, a man attacked a 101-year-old woman and an 85-year-old woman, which sparked a "Granny Law" which imposes stiffer fines to anyone convicted of attacking someone over the age of 65.
