Last week we told you about NY's filthiest hotel, Times Square's New York Inn. Based on user-reviews from TripAdvisor.com, it was ranked sixth skeeziest guest house in the nation and our city’s very worst. The Post took us on a tour of the rickety old building, some highlights—which you can see after the break—include “stained sheets, a mysterious blood stain, a dangerous looking radiator, holes in the bedspread, a shower curtain suspended by twine and a general appalling level of filth in the bathroom.”
On the web site, users reported mice and one past customer said he’d found an employee sitting on his bed smoking a cigarette, but the hotel—located on Eight Avenue near W. 47th Street—says it’s been framed. According to a desk clerk at the cut-rate quarters, TripAdvisor asked that the inn pay for better ratings, but it declined. "This hotel is not filthy. It is a low-budget tourist spot in the heart of Times Square," said the clerk. "We are honest. We let people inspect the rooms before they pay." Orange mold and piles of dust will still set you back $69+/night, but as you can see from past guests’ comments the revolting stories are priceless.
