Though he initially said he wanted to remain anonymous, actor Chad Lindsey, who on Monday rescued a man who fell into the subway tracks in Penn Station, has been making the rounds, doing TV appearances with WCBS and Rachel Maddow's show. On the latter program, he recounts his daring rescue story with self-effacing aplomb, and while there aren't any new details revealed, many viewers will no doubt swoon to hear the cutie tell his tale.
All in all, it's a hell of an anecdote, and the only way the story could get better is if it turns out Chad Lindsey (Seann William Scott?) paid the guy (Kevin Nealon?) to fall into the tracks so he could get his big break. And it totally works, until Nealon gets jealous of Chad's fame and threatens to expose him if he doesn't start getting him some acting gigs, too. So Chad introduces Nealon to some producers, assuming he'll flop, but of course they eat it up and cast the two of them in a buddy movie about show dog kidnappers (Hot Dawgs?). And when the truth finally comes out during Chad's full-Bale on-set meltdown, Chad's new girlfriend (Zooey Deschanel) totally turns on him, and so does the rest of the world—even Maddow—and he winds up interning back at the same depressing Off-Off Broadway theater where it all started. Chad, give us a call so we can talk merchandising!
