A driver in a Citi Bike van struck a 71-year-old woman and her husband in Marble Hill on Sunday, leaving her in critical condition, the NYPD said.

The 41-year-old driver of the white Mercedes-Benz sprinter van was traveling along West 225th Street and made a left turn onto Broadway when he struck the couple around 10:40 a.m. as they crossed the street, according to police.

Officials said both the wife and husband, 64, were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where the woman is listed in critical condition and the man in stable condition.

A spokesperson for Lyft, which operates Citi Bike, confirmed the incident and described it as “unacceptable.” The company said it’s investigating the crash internally and is ready to assist law enforcement.

Police said the driver remained on the scene after the collision. They did not make any immediate arrests and said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
