It's not just cruise ship passengers that get treated to mass diarrheal vomitfests: upstate snow hotel Mohonk Mountain House has been forced to shutter for a week thanks to an aggressive stomach virus that has sickened hundreds of guests and employees.

The outbreak reportedly started around January 31st, with guests complaining of intestinal problems. Within a few days, hundreds of people were sick, and the New Paltz resort had to send its guests home. "It’s a stomach virus,” Mohonk spokesperson Nina Smiley told CBS News, “and it hits people differently, and some people bounce back after a number of hours, and some people, it takes longer."

It seems the suspected culprit is norovirus, the same highly contagious illness that likely turned an entire Royal Caribbean cruise ship into a floating boat of bodily fluids earlier this month. The virus is generally not fatal, but it's no fun either, often leaving victims with nonstop vomiting, diarrhea and other intestinal woes. A Mohonk spokesperson told us they'll be doing a full cleanup and will be ready to reopen by Valentine's Day, just in time for the Hallmark-induced puking to commence.
