[UPDATED] After nine days of deliberation, the https://twitter.com/AP/status/208292075207270403">AP reports">AP reports that the jury has found former North Carolina Senator John Edwards not guilty on one count out of six: receiving illegal campaign contributions from Bunny Mellon in 2008. The judge has declared a mistrial on the other five counts.
Three of the five involve illegal contributions, one involves making false statements and another is for conspiracy. If found guilty, Edwards faced a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison and $1.5 million in fines.
