030708scoreswest.jpgWith his strip club in dire straits amidst allegations of on-site prostitution, Scores West owner Elliot Osher is defending his business with tortured analogies to the Clinton era. Ranting to the Daily News, Osher called the State Liquor Authority's decision to revoke his liquor license "politically motivated and ridiculous,” and went on to point out that President Bill Clinton received oral sex in the Oval Office "and they didn't close the White House."

Scores West: The White House of strip clubs, where every man gets the presidential treatment, and every stripper can be his own personal… Monica Lewinsky? Osher didn’t go so far as to decry the proverbial ‘vast right wing conspiracy,’ but he does believe Scores West’s current problems stem from being top dog: "We're the No. 1 club in the city and we're a target. There have been shootings in back of us and next to us and those clubs stayed open." The Hustler and Penthouse clubs on the far West Side have been eating into Score’s West’s business.

Last year a manager at the club was caught telling undercover officers they could receive sexual favors in a back room for $200-700. This week the SLA revoked the club’s liquor license, though the club is still serving alcohol until the SLA formally serves Osher with the ruling. Scores West will appeal, and is asking the SLA to let the Executive branch – er, strip club – continue to sell alcohol during the appeal.
