Surf Park at Randall's Island?

In order to build a better surf park at Randall's Island, there's a site with a survey that tries to find out if you'll even go to the surf park, how much you'll spend, etc. It's all a part of the Randall's Island Aquatic Entertainment Complex "which includes a 17-acre outdoor waterpark and a 130,000 square foot indoor waterpark and Surfpark. The outdoor waterpark will be open mid-June to mid-September, and the indoor waterpark and Surfpark will be open year-round with water temperatures in the upper 70s-low 80s."

There will be two pools: Big Pool (For intermediate and advanced surfers/bodyboarders) with wave heights between 4-8 feet, riding lengths of 60-100 yards; and Training Pool (For beginner and novice surfers/bodyboarders) with wave heights of 3-4 feet, riding lengths of 25-35 yards. Gothamist is dazzled at the possibility of an aquatic park at Randall's Island - what will they think of next? [Via Andre - thanks]
