Mothers are the worst, right? First they give birth to us (like we even asked), and then they're all, "Stop texting so much" and "Nobody's going to buy the cow if you give away the milk for free." Not to mention all of their soap opera watching and incessant grocery shopping! Ok, so not everybody's mother is like that, but according to one UK study two-thirds of women will become this shrieking harpy by the time they turn 32. And this is why we live in America.
A survey of 1,000 British men and women showed that 33 percent of men and about 67 percent of women eventually begin acting like their mothers, a change "characterized by worrying, watching soaps and going to bed early." The average age this happens is around 32, because as behavioral expert Joachim de Posada explains, "At 32, most women have a child or are thinking about having a child and they become what their mothers were." Can't argue with science! Unless your mom is an actual person and not a ridiculous stereotype.
