Sometimes, especially when deadly earthquakes and tsunamis are upon us, there is nothing like a good "stupid drug dealer and the cops" story. Like this one! On Wednesday night three Long Island college kids went to pick up an ounce of weed from their neighborhood dope peddler's house, but once they had the goods in hand they decided they didn't want to pay and instead attacked the dealer, 21-year-old Kristopher Novinski.

After Tal Grinbaum (who attends Fairfield University) and Jacy Baron (who attends Nassau Community College) beat up Novinski (according to police he was "punched in the face and body several times") and got their pot they exited the dealers home and jumped in a Nissan where their pal Ori Matalon was waiting. The trio sped off while Novinski quickly pursued them. And then the cops got involved.

A passing patrol officer saw the robbers speed away and pulled them over, at which point Novinski apparently blurted out that he had been "robbed of his marijuana." So the officer did what you would expect any officer to do in such a situation and arrested all four of them.

Novinski was charged with possession and attempt to sale while the trio in the Nissan were charged robbery, conspiracy and weapons possession (there was a knife and a pellet gun in the car). Girnbaum was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

It isn't quite the guy who called 911 to find out if it was illegal to grow weed or the guy who texted his drug order to a cop instead of his dealer, but it'll do on a gloomy Friday.
