Spring arrived at 7:02 this morning. Did you feel it? You will be forgiven for not being in a spring mood as today is the seventh straight day of cooler than normal temperatures. At this time last year we were in the middle of a warm spell with highs in the 60s and 70s. Today's high might reach the lower 40s, but, with a strong westerly breeze, it's going to feel much colder.

The storm that dropped several inches of snow here is apparently a big fan of Lucy Maud Montgomery and has decided to pay an extended visit to the Canadian Maritimes. In doing so the low pressure system will direct cold air our way for the next several days. Along with the cool air we might see a few snow flurries tomorrow morning. The high temperature tomorrow probably won't break 40 degrees.

Cool and breezy weather continues on Friday, when the high is expected to only reach the low 40s. The maritime storm starts running out of fuel toward the weekend. By Saturday this storm will be so old that it will have mixed most of the cold and warm air masses feeding into it. Look for the temperature to rise to the mid 40s on Saturday to near 50 on Sunday.
