- While Plaxico Burress hasn't practiced much all year because of an ankle injury, now another injury seems to be hampering the Giants receiver. Burress is listed as "questionable" because of a left-knee injury that has bothered him on and off this season. The injury prevented him from practicing on Wednesday or Thursday. Yesterday, he was limited to a few individual drills. Joining Burress on the injury report is defensive end Osi Umenyiora, who has an unspecified thigh injury, which kept him out of practice on Friday. He's listed as probable for the game.
- Filip Bondy of the Daily News wonders if the Giants should be taking a shot at Tom Brady's injured ankle. That would be a pretty dirty move, though it's perhaps the best way to stop the Patriots offense.
- Fans watching Sunday's game at one bar on the Upper East Side may have to do a double take. Mayor Bloomberg symbolically changed the name of Brady's Bar to Manning's Bar. 78thAnd2nd has a picture of the bar's new look.
- Don't call it a jinx. Just consider the NYPD prepared. If the Giants win tomorrow, the city is ready for a parade on Tuesday. It would start at 10 a.m. at the U.S. Custom House and travel uptown on Broadway to City Hall, where there would be a ceremony at 1 p.m. That's quite a change from 1987 when the Giants had their parade in New Jersey because Mayor Koch didn't allow them a parade on Broadway. Boston's parade planning though, is totally a jinx.
- Speaking of superstitions, Sports Illustrated covers its bases with this week's issue. They decided to put a member of both the Giants and the Patriots on the cover - Michael Strahan and Tom Brady. Hopefully this means that Strahan will have a poor game and Brady will be sacked over and over by Osi Umenyiora.
