We went down to Red Hook to take a look at the Queen Mary 2 docking at the new Brooklyn Cruise Ship terminal. Long story short: it is one giganormous ship! People were mobbing the streets leading up to the terminal, and cops were stationed at most of the corners. Still, it was possible to get a pretty good look at the ship towering over the neighborhood, and watch as all the passengers drove up to the ship. Apparently there was a lot of confusion over where people were supposed to go, and some passengers got fairly pissed off, but all in all things went fairly smoothly.
