It’s going to be a soggy, springy Wednesday in New York.

Rain showers and warm air will continue to hover over the region for much of the day, dumping up to an inch of water on the city – though no major flooding is expected, according to the National Weather Service.

“It's not all coming down at once, so it's something we should be able to handle,” said meteorologist Bryan Ramsey.

The wet weather comes after a night of heavy rain across the five boroughs, with a total of half an inch measured in Central Park. Showers will stick around until a front rolls in later Wednesday night, bringing heavier downpours, strong winds and a threat of thunderstorms.

“The real concern, I think, will probably be more towards the wind side, just because we do have a wind advisory across the area,” Ramsey said.

Starting around 4 p.m., winds will reach 15 to 25 miles per hour, with a potential for gusts up to 45 or 50 mph. The wind advisory will stay in effect until 7 a.m. Thursday, according to the NWS.

Temperatures could reach 60 degrees in the afternoon, as the incoming front pushes warm air ahead of it, Ramsey said.

But that doesn’t mean it’s time to pack up winter clothes: Temps tomorrow morning will be right around freezing.
