Was it really just four years ago when the New York Post still cost a quarter? Those were days. Long lost days, it seems. Especially as the price of the priceless tabloid is about to jump up again, less than a year after the last hike!

This morning our newsguy informed us that the cost of the paper Alexander Hamilton founded would be going up to $1 on weekdays very soon and, what do you know, an e-mail to the paper's publicists confirms that a hike will be kicking in "effective June 18." Still, who knows, maybe this one will only last 10 days, like the paper's 2007 price hike?

That the Post would raise prices isn't that surprising—fewer and fewer people are buying physical papers and hey! the Times just did it, too—but what we'll be interested to see is how long it takes for the News to follow suit. And while we'll keep reading our papers online, we're sure the folks at the freepers Metro and AMNY will be very happy when this hike happens.
