Police are searching for a group of muggers who brutally attacked a food delivery worker and stole his e-bike in Williamsburg last weekend.

The incident, which occurred on February 8th, around 4:30 a.m., was captured by a high-definition security camera outside 32 Walton Street:

According to the NYPD, the 20-year-old male delivery worker had just made a delivery "when a group of unknown individuals approached him. The individuals stabbed the victim once in the right leg and once in the left leg before forcibly removing his bicycle, cellphone, approximately $70 dollars, a pizza, and a jacket."

A source tells the NY Post that the suspects told the deliveryman, “If you don’t give us everything, we’re going to have to kill you."

The victim was taken to Woodhull hospital. The suspects fled towards Union Avenue.

While delivery workers who rely on e-bikes have been targeted by the city and punished with summonses, these workers are also vulnerable to robbers. The NY Times reported last month, "Many say the recent [e-bike] crime wave has highlighted a longstanding issue: for years, food delivery workers have been seen as easy marks who are unlikely to report a crime because of language barriers or because they are undocumented immigrants." One worker said, "Before, it was very rare to hear that somebody lost his bike or they grabbed somebody’s bike. But now every day, three to four times, you can hear it."

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of these individuals is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
