Your Ideas For NYC's Next Top NYPD Mascot

Scott Birdseye sent in The NYPD Policestopus. He explained it was difficult choosing just one: "Here's my version of the NYPD mascot...it was either this or Stop n' Frisk the Helpful Police Squirrels."

Neil Kelly sent us Officer Bully. He described him as "an anthropomorphosized male bovine, with a bad moustache and an attitude to match."

Chris Bonnell sent us Texty The Traffic Pigeon. He told us his origin story, along with a few more details about the character: "Born under an awning of a bodega, Texty always knew he had what it takes to be a NYC traffic cop. When he's not ogling a twenty-something pedestrian, this bird uses his keen sight to flawlessly carry on several conversations via SMS text messaging. Armed with the power to travel through time, Texty has the unique ability to write tickets before a car has even parked. Look for Texty on an alternate side parking day in a neighborhood near you."

We also received an email from Birdie, the official mascot for GreeNYC, who wrote, "I'd be willing to help out." Reading between the lines, maybe Birdie needs a job on the side to make extra money to pay for his kids' private school education?

And last but not least, Scared Panda sent us his own picture. Though he looks a little drunk in this photo...
