Brian Steele seems to make a lot of bad decisions. Back in April, he let his girlfriend—who was allegedly high on painkillers—drive his van, and she ended up jumping a curb and fatally striking a woman who was gardening in her front lawn. Yesterday, he was charged with driving while impaired and drug possession when Nassau County police saw him driving without his seat belt. (The Post claims he was parked too far from the curb.)

According to Newsday, Steele, 29, "was asked to step out of the Escalade and 'appeared to be unsteady on his feet, have slurred speech' and was 'slow to respond.'" Plus the "sobriety test indicated impairment." Police found various prescription pills, like Xanax and Vicodin, on him and in the car; Steele also said, "I take oxys, vics and xanes, too." When he was arrested, Steele said, "This is crazy. Arrest some real criminals. What did I do?"

Steele has not been charged in connection with the April death of retired doctor Rebecca Twine Wright, while girlfriend Kayla Gerdes was charged with second-degree manslaughter. Gerdes' lawyer claims she was only driving because Steele was high.
