A motorist plowed into a four-year-old boy as he walked along Seventh Avenue in Sunset Park carrying a stuffed animal on Monday afternoon. The tyke was in front of Happy Land Grocery Store between 51st and 52nd streets around 2 p.m. when the driver of a sedan jumped the curb, running him over and injuring an adult. The crash was caught on surveillance video, and the incredible thing is—or in the words of one reporter, "unbelievable with a capital 'U' and amazing with a capital 'A'"—the kid made it out relatively unscathed.

The boy and the adult were taken to Lutheran Medical Center in stable condition, according to NBC4. The boy is still there, but suffered only bumps and bruises, reports from ABC7 and the Daily News said. Police said the driver has not been charged so far for what ABC7 reporter Dray Clark describes as "just a really bad accident."

The block of Seventh Avenue where the crash occurred was the site of six crashes last year, three that resulted in pedestrian injuries, according to city data.
