More details have trickled out about Osama bin Laden's demise: He had 500 Euros (about US $742-745) and two phone numbers sewn into the clothes he was wearing when Navy SEALs raided his compound. According to Politico, those were "sure signs that he was prepared to flee his compound at a moment’s notice."
CNN is now reporting that a young girl, around 12 or 13 years old, purportedly a daughter of bin Laden, witnessed U.S. special forces killing the Al Qaeda leader. (Bin Laden was shot twice, once in the head and once in the chest.) Pakistani officials have been interviewing the people left at the Abbottobad property, including two or three women, one of whom is apparently a wife of bin Laden. CNN adds, "The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said in a statement Tuesday that members of bin Laden's family were 'in safe hands and being looked after in accordance with law. Some of them needing medical care are under treatment in the best possible facilities. As per policy, they will be handed over to their countries of origin.'"
Pakistan, under scrutiny because Bin Laden had been living near an elite military school, is now trying to spread the blame. Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani said, "Certainly we have intelligence-sharing with the rest of the world, including the United States,. So if somebody points out that there are ... lapses from the Pakistan side, that means there are lapses from the whole world."
