Hats, boots and sneakers aren’t allowed inside the exclusive China Club, but apparently knives are—three partiers at the Times Square night spot were stabbed early this morning, and one is dead from his wounds. No details yet about what sparked the knife violence, but police believe a fight broke out on the sidewalk when crowds of inebriated clubgoers spilled out onto the street at closing time.
At 4 a.m. police were called to the venue that touts itself as not “just another bridge-and-tunnel megaclub,” located at W. 46th Street near 8th Avenue. Awaiting them was a 23-year-old man who’d been stabbed in the chest, reported NY1. They found a second victim, also 23-years old, close by with stab wounds to his chest and left hip. Both were taken to St. Vincent’s hospital, where one perished. Meanwhile, a canvas of the area near the club quickly revealed a third man with the same signature wound in the chest—he was found at W. 45th Street and 7th Avenue. Police believe the perpetrator fled the scene, since a weapon was not found in or around the China Club. Blood marks were still visible this morning.
