An unidentified 56-year-old woman and her 27-year-old daughter were found dead from stab woulds in a Brooklyn apartment this morning. At this point, details are scant, but police tell the AP they discovered the grisly scene while they investigated a missing person report at a sixth-floor apartment on East 13th Street near Avenue W. The 27-year-old was found with stab wounds to her torso, while her mother had stab wounds to her torso and face. (The Daily News reports they were both stabbed in the face.)
Police sources also tell the News there were no signs of forced entry. Investigators swarmed the building early this morning, and one of the victims' neighbors tells the Post her superintendant banged her door and told her to stay in her apartment. "I see so many policemen and detectives here," she said. "It must be something bad." On a side note, three different news outlets place the scene of the crime in three different neighborhoods: The News thinks it happened in Sheepshead Bay, CBS 2 calls it Homecrest, and the Post places it in Gravesend. (The AP plays it safe and just calls it Brooklyn.)
