Get ready for some mobster perp walks! The Post reports, "The feds this morning cuffed and carted away 27 people around the metro area in connection with a long-running investigation into continued Mafia control of the private garbage-hauling industry. Those arrested are being driven to Manhattan for booking and arraignment later today in Manhattan Federal Court."

The crackdown started at 5 a.m. in NY, and apparently some of the suspects are "reputed members of at least three of New York's five Mafia families." The investigation has been looking at extortion in NY and NJ.

The FBI told the tabloid, "I can confirm the FBI made arrests this morning with our partners in the NYPD and Westchester police. We will release further information later. But a source told The Post that among those charged is Carmine Franco, a trash company owner who was forced out of the business in New Jersey years ago because of mob ties."
