A man was stabbed on the 6 train this afternoon. According to the FDNY, a call reporting a stabbing on an MTA train near the Lexington Avenue-59th Street stop came in at 12:39 p.m. The victim has since been taken to Bellevue where he is expected to survive.
The NYPD currently has no information on the incident but an MTA spokesman assures us that it will have "no impact on service." Meanwhile, sources say the stabber fled on a southbound 6 train.
According to other reports, the incident occurred not on the 6 train itself, but on the platform "after the victim got into a dispute with the attacker."
