- Knicks 91 Heat 88: Even when they win, they lose. At this point there is nothing left to play for except a better draft pick and the Knicks hurt those chances with a win over the worst team in the NBA. Add it in the fact that it was the one-year anniversary of Isiah Thomas’ contract extension with the team and you probably won’t feel like celebrating anymore.
Nate Robinson had 17 points, Jamal Crawford had 23 and Zach Randolph added 19 points and 12 boards while the Knicks “improved” to 19-46.
- Nets 104 Cleveland 99: LeBron had 42 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists, but it wasn’t enough. The Cavaliers simply didn’t play defense, allowing the Nets to shoot 51% from the field and put six-different players into double figures.
- Florida 4 Islanders 2: Blake Comeau scored a goal to tie things up at 2 in the third period, but Florida answered just over a minute later when Karlis Skrastins beat Rick DiPietro. Hope remains, but the Islanders are running out of chances to get into the playoffs.
- Yankees-Rays have a brawl: Good for Joe Girardi for having his team make a statement when Heath Phillips hit Evan (don’t call me Eva) Longoria, too bad Shelly Duncan couldn’t have left it at that.
- Marquette, Villanova, West Virginia and Pittsburgh all advance at the Big East Tourney
