  • Flyers 2 Rangers 1 (Shootout): Henrik Lundqvist did absolutely everything he could, but he couldn’t help the Rangers’ offense and that made all the difference. Lundqvist made an amazing 46 saves in the game as the Rangers were outshot 47-25. And it looked like Lundqvist would carry the Rangers into the playoffs. Jody Shelley scored three minutes into the game to give New York the lead and that held up into the third period. But, Matt Carle scored to tie the game and Philadelphia managed to slip two by Lundqvist in the shootout to earn the playoff spot.
  • Yankees 7 Tampa 3: The Yankees are 4-2 on the year and have taken series on the road from their two biggest AL East rivals. AJ Burnett went seven innings while allowing only three runs and catcher, Jorge Posada, hit a two-run home run. A-Rod added two RBI’s and the Yankees are now on their way back to New York for the home opener and ring ceremony on Tuesday.
  • Washington 5 Mets 2: It was not a very good week for the Mets. The euphoria of Monday’s opener was replaced with their second-straight series loss this time to the lowly Nationals. To make matters worse, Sunday’s loss was with Johan Santana on the mound for New York and Livan Hernandez on the mound for Washington. Santana dug too big a hole as he gave up a grand slam in the first. Mike Jacobs had the lone highlight for New York, a two-run shot off of Brian Bruney.
  • Miami 111 Knicks 98: Here’s the good news, only two more games remain in the Knicks’ season. David Lee had 26 points, but the defense was atrocious once again allowing Miami to shoot 52% from the field. The curtain comes down on this train wreck Wednesday night.
  • Devils 2 Buffalo 1: New Jersey clinched the second seed in the East with the win and will open the playoffs against the Flyers.
