- Tampa Bay 3 Rangers 0: The Rangers decided to truly represent New York and went to Florida this weekend for some rest and recreation. They certainly didn’t play a lot of hockey, losing Friday and then mailing it in on Saturday. They only managed 20 shots and while Henrik Lundqvist made some big saves, he couldn’t bail New York out when they needed him most. The loss leaves the Rangers only four points ahead of Buffalo who is ninth in the conference. They will look to rebound Tuesday when they face the Penguins at home.
- Devils 4 Colorado 2: Martin Brodeur reached the 40-win plateau for the seventh time and the Devils earned a big win in a tough arena. Jay Pandolfo broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the second and Jamie Langenbrunner and John Madden put the game out of reach in the third.
- Montreal 3 Islanders 0: The Islanders kept it close until the third period, but Jaroslav Halak was just too tough. Halak stopped all 30 shots he faced as Montreal kept pace with the Devils and the Islanders fell further out of the playoff race.
- New Jersey 117 Utah 115: Richard Jefferson hit a jumper with just over a second remaining to give the Nets the win. Jefferson had 27 points and Vince Carter added 25.
