Are you tired of Tebowmania? Were you late to Linsanity? Well then here's your chance to jump on the next big thing in New York City sports—Kreidermania. Chris Kreider is quickly establishing himself as a star in the NHL, just ask Washington. Saturday, Kreider broke a 1-1 tie with a beautiful goal. He jumped into the play, received a great pass from Derek Stepan and blistered a slapper past Braden Holtby. Just a minute and a half later, he dug the puck out of the corner and setup Brad Richards for the Rangers third goal as New York took the opening game of their series with Washington 3-1.
And it's a good thing the Rangers kept some fans distracted from the Knicks' game because it was a debacle. Miami humiliated New York 100-67 with LeBron James actually outscoring the entire Knicks' starting five 32-30 and he only played 32 minutes. Carmelo and Amar'e combined to go 5-for-22 from the field. Tyson Chandler clearly was still suffering from the flu as he didn't score, committed 7 turnovers and almost got ejected for trying to take LeBron's head off. As ugly as all of that was, the worst part was Iman Shumpert getting carried off with a knee injury. Shumpert's on his way to the hospital for tests, but it certainly didn't look good.
