Are you intrigued by illegal street art in abandoned subway stations, the latest gin distilleries, and NYC's hidden secrets? And do you want to join the team at Gothamist? We're hiring a junior-level editor who will cover a range of topics, including arts and events, food, and style, but also pitch in with hard news stories.
This is a paid, full-time position (with health and dental insurance), mostly in-person at our DUMBO office, but days and hours may vary from a normal 9-to-5 job. The ideal candidate will be versatile, knowledgeable about NYC, and possibly willing to work weekend days from home (or at the office if you prefer). Responsibilities will include writing a large volume of posts each day, as well as editing stories written by others. You must also be comfortable reporting: calling sources, interviewing people, tracking down quotes, etc.
Requirements: Some full time blogging experience, a ferocious drive and piercing wit, a deep and abiding interest in New York City (especially with a passion for style, food and arts), and the stamina to create 8-10 well written posts per day.
