It's the most ghoulish time of the year, with incredible displays popping up around the city and beyond. However, one man does not have the Halloween spirit and was spotted on surveillance footage grabbing a pumpkin from a Brooklyn stoop and smashing it onto the sidewalk:

The NYPD also Tweeted images of The Smasher, "Does anyone recognize this tough guy pumpkin smasher?" they asked, adding that the incident happened on 81st Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue in Brooklyn.

Should the suspect be worried after provoking an entire community? Let's ask WCBS 2's headline department: "Bay Ridge Residents Say They Have Special Treat In Store For Man Caught On Video Smashing Pumpkins." Ominous!

The home's owner, Herbert Kalloff, a sanitation worker told the network that he initially thought neighborhood kids were behind the pumpkin murders (there have been two, one this month and one in September). But then he looked at the video and saw "a grown adult." According to WCBS 2, "Kalloff said he did not consider the crime serious enough to get the police involved, but when the neighbors heard about it and they contacted investigators at the 68th Precinct station house."

Kalloff added, "I know where he lives. Everybody in the neighborhood told me where he lives." But WCBS 2 confronted the alleged smasher, who denied hating gourds.

As for that "Special Treat," it's Vaseline, Kalloff said, explaining the new addition to his pumpkins. "I want him to hold it over his head see how long he can hold it. I can’t wait ’til that happens.” We await that viral surveillance video.
