Thanks to religious concerns and rent regulations, marriage equality won't in all likelihood be coming to a vote today (and might not happen until Thursday) but the issue is still a hot topic in Albany. Just ask the crowds of supporters and protesters lining up in our state's hallways of power calling out to be heard. And as both sides wait for a vote, former Giant David Tyree continues to be a voice for the opposition, now saying he would give up his Super Bowl win to keep marriage away from those pesky homos.

What's the scene at Albany like right now? Hot and chanty if this video is any indication:

The anti-gay marriage NOM protesters in that crowd today included Tyree, who told the News that "I'm not necessarily here to be politically correct. All of my convictions come from my faith. I speak strong for that."

Meanwhile, the wait for a vote goes on and on. But if it is any consolation to those eager to see marriage equality come to town, no less than homophobic State Senator Ruben Diaz, Sr., thinks that the eventual passage of marriage equality in New York is inevitable. But just in case, you still might want to call your Senator and let them know what you think of the issue.
