Undead former hurricane Hermine has been hanging out to our southeast for days, cut off from the larger circulation of the atmosphere. That pattern looks like it will gradually fall apart over the next day or so, and as it does the cloudy skies should give way to more sun. Despite the clouds we should still warm to at least the lower 80s this afternoon.
Warmer air arrives tomorrow ahead of a weak cold front. A southerly breeze should push Thursday's high to the humid upper 80s, if not 90. There is a slight chance of showers as the front approaches tomorrow night. Friday's high should again approach 90 degrees but with low humidity.
The warm weather is expected to continue into the weekend despite the passage of a more vigorous cold front. The front should arrive late Saturday night or in the morning on Sunday. Highs on Saturday should be in the middle to upper 80s. Sunday will be in the lower to mid 80s, depending on when the front passes. More seasonable temperatures, with highs in the upper 70s, are on tap for early next week.
